C1840. A rare, free standing, oak, metamorphic library table attributed to Gillows that converts first to a desk. The top lifts up on both sides ( called "double riser" By Gillows) with a pair of leather tooled flaps to take large books and folios. Inside are adjustable shelves and two drawers. All on a plinth base. Great quality.
