A pair of limed oak, and velvet George VI Coronation stools from the original design by Edward Barnsley.

One from the original 1937 Coronation, the other a homage to the late king made by Waring and Gillows in 1952. Queen Elizabeth II used the same design for her coronation and subsequent celebration of it in 1976. By the Coronation of Charles III the chair making industry centreing around High Wycomb, where they were produced had died out and the tradition was discontinued.

Showcasing simple yet elegant English joinery and design.

Each stool is structurally sound and retain their original upholstery, preserving the charm and authenticity of antique seating. Their compact proportions make them ideal as occasional stools, footrests, or versatile accent pieces in traditional or eclectic interiors.

An excellent addition for collectors, interior designers, or anyone seeking genuine examples of Royal history and English design.
