A rare and elegant 19th century button-back daybed, originally from the historic Holkham Hall estate in Norfolk. Upholstered in its original pale green fabric, this antique chaise longue features classic deep buttoning, a gracefully curved backrest, and turned walnut legs and brass Cope and Collinson castors. The piece exudes timeless charm and would make a striking statement in a traditional drawing room, country house interior, or refined bedroom setting. The original upholstery is in good condition and the webbing has been replaced.

This authentic Victorian daybed offers not only decorative appeal but also comfort and historical provenance. Ideal for interior designers and collectors seeking a genuine period piece with distinguished origin.

The frame is almost "new old stock" as it has been covered, since new, with a dust cover. A linen label "Her ladyships bedroom"

Provenance- Holkham Hall . The second Earl had two wives. The first Juliana Whitbread died in 1870 and he married Hon Georgiana Cavendish in 1875. The Countess had a bedroom and adjoining sitting room on the first floor of the family wing, where this daybed resided.
