Pair of 19th Century Plaster Library Busts – Classical Decorative Antiques

A fine pair of 19th century plaster library busts, beautifully modelled and finished in dark bronze patination. Each portrait bust depicts a distinguished gentleman in neoclassical drapery, capturing the refined taste and scholarly style of Victorian interiors. These antique plaster busts are ideal decorative pieces for a study, library, or mantelpiece, adding period character and timeless elegance to any setting. The taller of the two is likely to be Viscount Castlereagh the other is as yet unidentified. The signiture likely refers to Claude Francois Lequine who visited England in the 1840s and 50s.

Retaining their original patina and showing minor wear consistent with age, they display the craftsmanship and detail typical of 19th century sculptural work. Perfect for collectors of classical décor, interior designers, or those seeking authentic antique statement pieces.
