C1850. A finely carved, alabaster, grand tour, model of Spinario or boy with thorn.

Spiario is a bronze Greco-Roman Helenistic sculpture, now in the Pallazo dei Conservatori Rome. A Roman marble copy is in the Uffizi Florence. Spinario,first recorded in 1160 is one of the very few bronzes to come down to us, that has never been lost from sight.
