This authentic South Eastern European cooking vessel dates to around circa 1900 and reflects traditional rural pottery used throughout the Balkans. Hand-thrown from earthenware clay, the pot features a rounded body, wide mouth, and two robust loop handles, designed for lifting and cooking over an open hearth or wood-fired stove. The dark, naturally fired surface shows honest wear, patina, and age-related marks, highlighting its utilitarian past. Subtle incised decoration around the shoulder and a lighter firing band near the base are characteristic of traditional Balkan folk pottery.

Such vessels were commonly used for slow cooking, stews, soups, and preserving food, making them an important part of everyday domestic life in South Eastern Europe. Today, this antique pot works beautifully as a decorative interior piece, rustic planter, or collectible example of early 20th-century European vernacular ceramics.

A genuine piece of history, ideal for collectors of antique European pottery, rustic home décor enthusiasts, or those seeking authentic Balkan cookware from the late 19th to early 20th century. Crack to one side stabalised.
